harp

harp is an R based tool for verification used in several capacity building projects. It is a “framework” with different packages for working with observations and forecasts on different data formats, and analyzing the data. The packages are designed to work together by using consistent data structures. This opens up for many ways of analyzing and visualizing not only weather data, but also climate, ocean and other data.

harp is developed in consortia consisting of meteorological departments in Europe and North Africa: HIRLAM-ALADIN-LACE. These are now part of the larger collaboration ACCORD. Although harp is an extensive tool, development is still ongoing.

harp can be installed from github.com/harphub. View instructions for installing harp if you need more details on how to do this. More information about the harp package can be found at the harp training course site. harp logo
